Integration courses

The integration courses under the Immigration Act are aimed at migrants and ethnic German repatriates and their family members who have recently arrived in Germany from their country of origin. Immigrants who have been living in Germany for some time and do not have sufficient language skills can also take part on application. Integration courses end with two final examinations:

1. “Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer” (DTZ - A2-B1)

2. “Living in Germany” (Politics)

Job-related language support according to § 45a AufenthG

On July 1, 2016, the federal government expanded the range of job-related language support for people with a migration background:

job-related German language support became a standard instrument of federal language support. It is implemented by the BAMF and builds directly on the

integration course.

Information B2 vocational language courses

Due to the tense budget situation for the year 2025, BAMF has initially cut or severely restricted the funding and offer options for B2 vocational language courses. For other levels, the funding has been completely eliminated in some cases. As a result of these cuts, VHS Bocholt-Rhede-Isselburg cannot offer the planned B2 courses. If no additional funds are provided by BAMF, this will apply for the entire year 2025. In the entire region, only 3 providers can offer a B2 course in the near future:

DRK – Borken, Akademie Klausenhof – Dingden, and VHS - Dülmen.

Unfortunately, the waiting lists there are also long, so the courses seem to be fully booked already. However, you can independently contact one of the mentioned providers or the responsible job center for more information. We deeply regret this announcement!
